My husband and I live in Central NY and have bad credit due to running up credit cards while unemployed. My husband inherited a house and we are trying to obtain insurance on it- however, 4 companies have turned us down due to our credit situation. Do any insurance companies have a heart anymore? Does anyone know of any companies that won’t turn us down?

Furthermore, how does a bad financial situation equal an irresponsible homeowner?

Is it normal for a dentist to keep a credit from an insurance reimbursement? February 16, 2010

If you had a dental procedure and your insurance covered it, but the dentist still made you pay out of pocket, shouldn’t the dentist inform the patient immediatley once the insurance company reimburses them? Shouldn’t the patient know that he/she has a credit? Is it normal for them to not tell you and just apply it to your next appointment without your knowledge?

Can I maintain a bank loan for a vehicle that is destroyed w/ no insurance? February 13, 2010

Horribly enough, my husband attempted suicide in his truck and the truck burned up and he received horrible burns in the process. If that isn’t enough to deal w/ the police said that if we file an insurance claim for the 1.5 y/o truck that they will prosecute him for arson and insurance fraud. So, I have a loan for 3.5 more years. If we maintain possession of the truck and continue to insure it, can the bank call in the loan if they find out? I changed the insurance to storage insurance only which is legal. I don’t know if I should come clean w/ the bank and try to get them to refinance it as a signature loan, or if I should just keep quiet. I don’t have the $24,000 that is owed on it, and don’t have that much equity in my home. I have 2 kids, and can not lose my house. Does anybody have any knowledge on where I stand w/ the bank? We have a very good relationship w/ our bank and we hate to lose it and not have them help us in the future. So don’t want to screw them over.Submited by:Trouble

Can paying monthly for car insurance increase credit score? November 28, 2009

sweetdrmz6 asked:

I was just wondering if I pay my monthly insurance bill if my credit score would go up?
I am trying to build my credit score after having a real bad score. I know that if you have a recurring payment it will increase the score, but does that include car insurance?
I have the money to pay my insurance for the year all at once (birthday present) but if it helps my score to pay monthly, I’ll just keep the money in my account and pay monthly.
Thanks!

Once an insurance company encashes my premium cheque, from when should the risk start? November 27, 2009

Posted by Banking in : Insurance , 3comments
I have issued a cheque towards first year premium along with the proposal for insurance. The cheque dated the first of the month has been encashed by the insurance company on the third of the month. But they have issued the insurance policy only on the 19th of the month with the date of starting of risk shown as the 22nd of the month. As my cheque for the premium amount has been encashed on the third of the month itself, is not the insurance company liable to cover the risk from the date of encashment of the cheque? Does not the encashment of my cheque and crediting it to the insurance company’s account signify that they have accepted the risk from that date itself?
