How can you get a bank loan for a house when you don’t even have nearly as much for collateral? March 18, 2010
Posted by Banking in : Renting & Real Estate , 9commentsI was looking at a book about real estate investing and it says you can take a small amount of money (Example:$10,000.00 and have the bank give you a $70,000.00 loan added to your $10,000.00 and you can invest in real estate by buying your first home. Now, how in the world is the bank going to give anyone that much money when they don’t even own that much? Plus, what if they’re credit is bad? I guess they can’t invest in real estate can they? If they still can, please explain to me how this is possible regardless of credit history?
I got this information out of a book about little or no money down on real estate investing. I think this is B.S., especially I went in the bank and tried to get a home loan and they told me my credit was way too bad.Submited by:God’sStrength

What do you do if you are in this situation with a bank loan? November 22, 2009
Posted by Banking in : Credit , 4commentsI got a personal loan to pay off my credit cards back in October of 2005. Everything seem to go fine with all of my cards except my Bank of America card. First Commonwealth Bank (my lendor) sent the check and it was processed. A week later Bank of America sends me a letter saying there wasn’t enough funds in the checking account the check came from. I thought this was weird since this came from First Commonwealth’s account. Anyway the bank manager helped me with the situation and found out that it was Bank of America’s fault. The situation seemed resolved in May. Then a week later Bank of America sends me another letter saying the same thing as before. Now here I am with the same situation I was in 10 months ago. First Commonwealth did an investigation on their side of the transaction and concluded that the money was processed and left their account back in October 2005. It is Bank of America’s fault, but they are giving me the “run-around.” What should be my next action?

What to take when applying for bank loan? November 11, 2009
Posted by Banking in : Credit , add a commentI’ll be dropping in to my bank this week to apply for a used auto loan. What specific things would it be wise to take with me? I’m fairly certain I’ll need recent paystubs and possibly tax returns/W-2s/1099s, etc. Is there anything else they might need that hasn’t occurred to me?

Can I pay a bank loan using a personal check? November 1, 2009
Posted by Banking in : Credit , 4commentsBlame it on ignorance…
Because my credit union lost all my direct deposit account info when I initially set up an auto loan, I physically make my payments there each month. I always pay cash.
But can I simply write a check for the amount due and hand it to the teller? Is that acceptable? It would save me a trip to my other bank each month.
Thanks.Submited by:LG
