I’m soon to be 18 and am looking to get a credit card to help build credit. My dad said the best thing to do is to just use it to buy gas, but I’m not really all that up to date on how credit cards work and which ones are the best. Does anyone have any wise credit card wisdom to pass on to me?

Who gets credit for child in home when filing injured spouse? April 20, 2010
Posted by Banking in : United States , 2commentsI am the injured spouse, and we have 1 child together. I filled the form and I was wondering who the $1000 credit for the child that we have together in our home goes to.
Do they give part to my husband to be applied to back debts, or do I get the child credit along with my own?
Thanks!

What banks can finance a single family residence under 600 square feet? April 19, 2010
Posted by Banking in : Renting & Real Estate , 3commentsHello. I am attempting to buy a foreclosure in San Diego that is a single family residence with a total square footage of 528. I was told it is difficult for banks to finance anything under 600 square feet. The house is in good shape but its tiny. I need financing asap since the bank already accepted my offer. Thanks.Submited by:maganda

How can I cancel credit cards I have without getting dinged on my FICO score? April 19, 2010
Posted by Banking in : Personal Finance , 5commentsI have several credit cards that have annual membership fees required. But I do not use them and have no plans on using them in the future. I’ve been told that if I cancel these cards that my credit scores will suffer because of the cancellations. Is there a way to cancel these cards without causing anymore danage to my credit scores?

I am looking to get a credit card basically for emergency purposes (mostly for those unexpected car repairs) and christmas time when I don’t have the money for gifts (I have a large family). What would be the ideal credit card for me to get? I have2 store credit cards, which are always paid off before I even recieve the bill, and an excellent credit score due to those cards, and student loans. I am looking for a card that doesnt have an annual fee, any suggestions?
