First of all, Jason W and Shirwwod are most accurate. Using your debit card as credit versus ATM does nothing for you. I don't know the lowest score but 850 is the highest. The average american has a score of 675-700. Anything over 700 and you are in very shape, the top 20%.

0-349 - no credit
350-619 - bad credit/poor credit
620-659 - fair credit
660-749 - good credit
750-850 - excellent credit
As you can see 0 is lowest and 850 is highest credit score
A higher score can give you more financial options and many favorable credit offers.

What you can do

At first learn what your current credit score is as it appears on your credit report. You can get your credit score by contacting any credit reporting agency, such as Equifax, Experian or TransUnion.
Address: Equifax Credit File Advice Centre, P.O. Box 1140, Bradford, BD1 5US
Tel: 0870 010 2091
Address: Experian Consumer Help Service, PO Box 8000, Nottingham, NG80 7WF
Tel: 0870 241 6212
Address: Callcredit PLC Consumer Services Team, PO Box 491, Leeds, LS3 1WZ
Tel: 0870 060 1414

Check your credit report regularly. Correct any incorrect information you find on your credit report as quickly as possible. Incorrect information is an invalid reflection of you as a credit consumer.

Try to keep account balances on your credit cards about 30%. High balances on your account may negatively affect your score because you have a greater chance of missing payments.

Make all of your payments on time. Usually, you have 60 days.

If you have a bad credit history, consider opening new accounts and then paying them off on time. This establishes a positive credit history for you and shows that you now handle debt responsibly.

Bad credit can frustrate your efforts at getting a credit. Hence ensure you keep your credit report clean. If there are any errors in the report, undertake credit repair to clear out any errors. This can be tiring and frustrating, but highly rewarding. Though law recognizes and protects your rights, it is your duty to remove any anomalies in

I think that the average person runs a credit score in the 700's. When you are applying for credit or a loan, the bank will give you the best interest rate id you maintain around a 720 score.

Improving your score requires paying down debt that you already have. Lenders look for a low debt-to-income ratio. The less debt you have now, the more income that you can spend elsewhere.

Debit cards have absolutely nothing to do with you credit score. The myth that you heard probably was a debit card that has a line of credit attached to it. If that is the case and you do not pay back you line of credit, then that default would be on your credit. Not the use of the ATM.Debit card. You cannot default on that as this is money directly related to the checking account that you already use.

I think 675 is the average consumer score. It can go as high as 800 or as low as 350-400. Visit

I think Best score i think is 850
good things to improve credit
Pay your bills as soon as you get them, quickly paying makes them happy.
ATM/Debit, is a myth This doesn't really go towards your credit score because you are not truly borrowing $. Its $ you already have.
