Customer Service is #1 and then the services they throw in as extras like no fee free checking. Also if you walk in and there are lines that usually means poor service and inefficency. I usually just go by the 3 – P’s principle…being Professional, Prompt, and Polite! If you have that you have it made and that principle applies to all things where you are the customer.

I think the highest interest rate and lowest bank charges for savings… the lowest interest rate and lowest bank charges for borrowing… lol

First of all it’s federally insured before I deposit my money in, and has a long history of being safe. Then I’d consider if it’s convenient and if interest rates are competitve. Having a secure online banking setup also extremely important.
