I have bad credit and need financing for my business to expand? Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? October 29, 2009

Hello,

I have a small residential and commercial cleaning business that I am looking to expand. I have been shopping around for financing through traditional lenders, but due to my 518 FICO score and millions of charge-offs, I can’t get fianancing. I have applied to a few non-profits in the state that I live in. I have also been pitching my case to some friends. I don’t have any family that can help. They all have bad credit and so do much of my friends. I really do not know anyone with cash on hand either. I have been looking into getting an angel investor or a venture capitalist, but I do not know if that’ll work. I’ve posted an ad on Prosper and I never get responses. Again, I think that this is due to my bad credit. I am seriously running out of ideas. I have 15 months invested in this and I do NOT want to give up. Does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone suggest a place that can help me? I know I need to fix my credit, but I need the money to do it. Please, please, help!

What to do when your credit card company causes overdrafts at your bank? October 26, 2009

I recently paid my credit card bill of $2.27, however the credit card company entered the payment as $227.00, causing $50 in overdraft fees at my bank. The credit card company had me fax over a statement with the bank fees on it so they can take care of it, however after 3 weeks they still haven’t done it, they tell me that they don’t even know if the statement is in the building and that they get hundreds of faxes a day and as soon as they get to it, they will handle it, what if this takes months? Is there a way I can make them take care of this matter more quickly? I just went ahead and paid my banks fees just so I could use my bank account again. Did I do the right thing? What if the credit card company never received the fax and they end up asking for another one, how can I make sure that they receive it? They corrected the mistake between the $2.27 and $227.00, maybe that’s all I can hope for.

Can my credit card company, namely Chase do this to me? October 26, 2009

Posted by Banking in : Credit , 11comments
I have flawless credit but due to some unfortunate things, I had to rely on my credit cards and have high balances. I have not been late on any of them or any other credit obligation that I have, in fact I have never been late on any of my payments every. My credit score is still over 700.

Yesterday I found out that Chase has increased the interest rate on my account from 14.24% to to 27.24%!

I called them and they completely refused to reduce my rate by saying that since I am using over 80% of my credit limit, I am a high risk so they can do that.

My question to you guys is, can they legally do that? What can I do to have my interest rate changed back to 14.24%? At this time, I am unable to transfer my balance to another account.

Please HELP!!!

How does a creditor find your bank account? October 24, 2009

Kay A asked:

There was a levy placed on my current bank account by a bill collecting agency(credit-card debt) and I am stil owing. My dilienma is that I was laid off from my job and I cannot afford to pay right now. I want to file my taxes and have the funds go directly to my bank account. If I do open a new bank account and e-file, will the creditor be able to find my new account and place a levy on it? I would also like to know how they find it (bank account), and how long it usually takes.

Thanks in advance!

Dealing with Banks when trying to purchase a foreclosed home? October 24, 2009

Posted by Banking in : Renting & Real Estate , 3comments
I am trying to purchase a foreclosed home. I offered the bank the asking price for the home. The banks agent has yet to present the offer to the bank. He said he waits a week and then presents all offers.
Isn’t that practice a little unethical? Is that the “norm” for foreclosure sales? How long does it usually take a bank to respond to an offer?
